Greenhouse Vegetable Production Group

The Kyushu and Okinawa regions are temperate and produce a large number of vegetables grown in facilities, which have a high market share nationwide. On the other hand, all of these crops demands huge labor, and production is becoming unstable due to the shortage of farmers and the effects of global warming. Therefore, stable production and sustainable facility production are required. Hence Greenhouse Vegetable Production Group is engaged in,

  • Breeding of Strawberry varieties that can be expected to be highly profitable by extending the harvestable period of strawberries and with excellent transport suitability,
  • Development of fuel reduction and high-yield production technology by smart environmental control such as local CO2 application system for strawberries,
  • Development of new varieties of asparagus resistant to stem blight and development of new varieties,
  • Development of biodegradable medium utilization technology and sprout of Kyushu and Okinawa specialty vegetables in artificial light type plant factory etc.,

We will contribute to the stable production of facility vegetables and the expansion of exports
